"We create a fun, safe, and supportive atmosphere without competition. Wherever you are in your journey, there is a place for you in our community. Signing up on-line is easy! There are no monthly commitments and you can take different class times each week.”

We have designed a comprehensive program, including Yoga philosophy, anatomy, and asana. With both weekend and weekday classes available, we hope to make our certification available to everyone, even those with busy work lives. The curriculum consists of ten separate modules and may be completed in any order over a two-year period. A module can be completed in one weekend or during three weekday classes. Our 200 hour Teacher Training Program meets the requirements for registration with the national Yoga Alliance.
Since 2008 we have been providing consistent, high quality yoga teacher trainings. Participants learn to design their own safely sequenced classes with good clear instructions which help build consistent long term students in their classes. The majority of classes being taught in the metro are at gyms, where a wide variety of students attend. At Yogalife we prepare students to handle these mixed level classes safely and confidently, making our graduates some of the most sought after by gym and studio owners.
At Yogalife we believe Yoga is a practice of self-understanding and self-healing - not just exercise. People come to try the practice of yoga for many reasons. For some, the practice takes root and centers them, leading to a strong healthy body and a positive outlook on life. There is a difference between a life led by the head, and a life led by the heart and spirit. Yoga calms down the mind just enough for the spirit to begin to break through and be heard. We help teachers on their journey, and in turn they help others transform their lives.
Our comprehensive curriculum continues to improve each year as we learn what works best in supporting and educating new teachers. We break down and explain how to correctly practice all the most accessible yoga poses, how to teach them safely to mixed groups, how to modify for different body types and injuries, and where to sequence them in classes. Our curriculum also includes basic anatomy and how it relates to the poses, yoga history and philosophy, and plenty of practice teaching. We also provide a log-in site for teacher trainees to access with additional resources, along with a dedicated Facebook group for trainees and graduates to ask questions, get support, and find substitutes and jobs.
Due to our reputation for delivering informative, collegiate, and enjoyable weekends students drive from all over to our Norman location to attend. We’ve had graduates from all over the OKC metro, Texas, and Kansas. Students are always treated fairly and with respect in our professional training environment.-Becca Hewes
We encourage you to drop by the studio for a class to see our school and experience our teaching. With an active studio in Norman, we offer the opportunity for student teachers to be part of our community. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for our students and our student teachers. We make it clear from day one what your requirements are to finish, how long it will take, and when our trainings will meet. The ideas and input of all students and student teachers are valued. If you’ve been teaching for some time and want to get certified, we will help you get through the process with an attitude of mutual respect.
For those students who can't attend weekend sessions, we offer the choice to attend training on Wednesdays.

Register by calling the studio at 405-701-3392 or e-mailing us. Those who would like to attend our training weekends for the growth of their personal practice, but do not intend to teach yoga, are also welcome to register.
It’s important when choosing a yoga school to pick a Director whose teaching you like and respect. Going through a program just for the certification takes the joy of learning out of the experience for both teacher and student teacher. Our program is taught by a team of experienced teachers including Becca Hewes, Tim Bodenstein, Holly Jack, and Kathie Hibbs.
Before registering for our program, please talk with Becca and attend one of her public yoga classes if possible to ensure that her teaching is in alignment with your ideas about teaching and practicing yoga.
